LADIES MATCH REPORT: SSE WOMENS FA CUP SECOND QUALIFYING ROUND

New Milton Town Ladies 5 – 4 Downend Flyers

New Milton Town Ladies fired back from 4-1 down with 25 minutes to go on Sunday to continue their dream of reaching the first round proper.

Lou Ferns side started unusually poorly and were three goals down within the opening 17 minutes a lead which lasted until the 54th minute when captain Nicole Power slotted home to make it 3-1. It was short lived as the Downend Striker scored a looping shot to make it 4-1 and in a lot of the crowds eyes end the game. Olivia Watts then scored to make it 4-2, and with 20 minutes left it became the Katie Norman show firstly slotting home and then rounding the goalkeeper to make it 4-4 with minutes remaining. Katie decided that was enough as with almost the last kick of the game she ghosted in at the back post to stab home an Olivia Watts cross and send the bumper crown into ecstasy.

One more Qualifying round to go before the FA Cup First Round.
